The Preparatory Year at Alfa College in Groningen prepares non-native Dutch speakers to enter University of Groningen or Hanze University of Applied Sciences. This programme is for refugees and asylum seekers who have reached level B1 Dutch and have a certificate that is equivalent to the Dutch HAVO diploma (senior general secondary education), or, who have followed a programme that grants them admission to higher education in their own country.
