The University of Amsterdam offers work experience placements for refugees in the Amsterdam area with a Bachelor degree. The aim of the programme is to help educated refugees improve their starting position on the labour market and increase their chances of getting a job. The participant will work at the UvA , the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences (AUAS) or the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences (KNAW) for 2 to 4 days a week over a 6-month period. The tasks support services such as financial administration, student administration or the library. The participant will also take part in Dutch language courses and attend career orientation workshops provided by the UvA. During the placement, refugees can continue to receive benefits from the Dutch government. The placement starts twice every year.
